Demand for cancellation of matriculation exams: Important stand of Private Schools Association

The Pakistan Private Schools Association has put forward a new demand, expressing serious concerns about the education system across the country and especially regarding the matriculation exams in Punjab.

Association leader Abrar Ahmed Khan says that according to statistics, about 80 percent of the country’s students reach school without using any kind of transport, while the remaining students who depend on transport should be shifted to online classes in view of the current situation.

He maintains that this move will not only reduce traffic problems but will also make it possible to save students’ safety and time.

Talking about the duration of the academic session, Abrar Ahmed Khan revealed that students in Punjab have only 124 days to study during the current academic year, which is insufficient to complete the syllabus.

To compensate for this educational loss, the association has demanded that the matriculation exams starting from March 28 be immediately canceled and new dates for the exams be announced so that students get adequate time to prepare.

According to the Private Schools Association, rushing in exams can have a negative impact on the future of students and their academic performance, so the government should review this sensitive issue.
