Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif directs immediate relief operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has contacted the Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) following the recent severe devastation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. The Prime Minister directed Lieutenant General Inam Haider to initiate immediate and comprehensive relief operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and NDMA to utilize all available resources to provide relief to the affected people.

The Prime Minister also said that the NDMA should remain in constant touch with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government so that relief activities can be carried out effectively and immediate relief can be provided in the affected areas.

According to experts, such immediate measures not only provide immediate facilities to the victims but can also speed up the rehabilitation process after the disaster.
