Interbank Currency Exchange Rates in Pakistan Today – 03 July 2026

Limited movement is currently being witnessed in the value of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar, while a narrow difference is being maintained between interbank and open market rates. According to the latest available market data, dollar buying and selling rates are being maintained at relatively stable levels.

In the interbank market, the US dollar is currently being bought at Rs 277.35, while the selling rate is being maintained at Rs 277.85. The interbank market is being closely monitored by banks, businesses and financial institutions as import payments and major transactions are being conducted through this market.

In the open market, the dollar is currently being bought at Rs 278.00, while the selling rate is being maintained at Rs 278.50. A limited difference is being observed between the interbank and open market rates, although slight variations are being recorded by different exchange companies and in different cities.

The direction of the rupee is being influenced by several economic factors. Demand for dollars for imports, external debt repayments, exports, remittances and the availability of foreign currency are being closely monitored. Movements in the global value of the US dollar are also being reflected in local exchange markets.

The dollar rate is being closely watched by importers because the cost of energy, machinery and industrial raw materials is often being linked to foreign currencies. When the dollar is being strengthened against the rupee, higher import costs are being faced. When exchange rates are being kept relatively stable, businesses are being given greater certainty for planning payments and expenses.

The exchange rate is also being closely followed by overseas Pakistanis because the rupee value of remittances is being affected by dollar movements. However, the overall impact is also being determined by inflation, household expenses and broader economic conditions.

The future direction of the currency market is being influenced by remittance flows, export performance, import demand and external financing conditions. Consumers and businesses are being advised to check the latest exchange rates before currency transactions are being made, as rates can be changing during market hours.
