Ghee and cooking oil prices increase, adding an additional burden on consumers

In the new wave of inflation, the prices of ghee and cooking oil have been significantly increased across the country, putting further burden on the domestic budget of consumers.

According to the latest rate, the price of ghee per kg has increased by Rs 12, while a 16 kg tin of ghee is now available in the open market for Rs 8,550. Similarly, a 5-kg packet of cooking oil has gone up from Rs 2,800 to Rs 2,850, meaning consumers will have to pay Rs 70 more per packet.

The same situation was seen in the wholesale market, where ghee is being sold for Rs 535 per kg and oil for Rs 572 per kg. According to dealers, different brands have increased the price by Rs 10 to 15 per kg or per liter, which is causing more problems for consumers.

There has also been a significant change in the prices of oil and ghee of major brands. A 10-liter can of cooking oil is now available for Rs 6,400, while the prices of other packets have also increased.

Experts say that this inflation has come to light due to the increase in edible oil prices globally and the increase in local production costs. However, this increase is no less than a big shock for the public.
