Lahore: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority Punjab (PDMA) has warned that heavy rains have been predicted in different areas of Punjab during the next 24 hours, which is likely to cause urban flooding. Heavy rains are expected in Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura and Sialkot, while there is also a risk of urban flooding in Rawalpindi and Gujranwala.

PDMA officials said that there is a possibility of flooding in the Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi and adjacent rivers, which may increase the risk of flooding. In addition, the water flow is expected to increase at the Ganda Singh point in the Sutlej River.

According to the Director General PDMA, low-level flooding has occurred in the Narowal Nallah Bayan. In this regard, the PDMA has alerted the relevant agencies and instructed the public to be careful.

This series of monsoon rains is likely to continue till July 31, which may worsen the flood situation in Punjab.
