Investors cautious, PSX business week ends with negative trend

The current business week at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) proved to be cautious and slightly bearish for investors. The Hundred Index recorded a total decline of 1672 points, after which the market closed at 161,631 points.

The Hundred Index fluctuated within a band of 7243 points throughout the week. The highest level of the index was 163,570 points, while the lowest level was 156,327 points, reflecting the uncertainty in the market and the cautious attitude of investors.

According to the report, 4.77 billion shares worth Rs 195.95 billion were traded in the business week. However, during this week, market capitalisation decreased by Rs 252 billion to Rs 18,561 billion.

According to experts, investors are keeping an eye on economic policies, interest rates and the global financial situation, due to which trading activity in the market seems limited.
