Iran Welcomes China’s Peace Proposal After Talks Between Araghchi and Wang Yi

Iran has welcomed a peace-focused proposal from China following talks between Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, describing the discussions as constructive.

In a statement shared on social media, Araghchi said both sides reaffirmed Iran’s right to protect its sovereignty and discussed ways to promote regional stability. He expressed appreciation for China’s four-point proposal aimed at supporting peace and reducing tensions.

The Iranian foreign minister said Tehran values Beijing’s role in encouraging dialogue and expects it to continue contributing positively to efforts aimed at preventing conflict. He also highlighted the need for a broader regional framework that can balance development with security considerations in a post-conflict environment.

The engagement reflects ongoing diplomatic efforts to address complex regional challenges through dialogue and cooperation. China has increasingly positioned itself as a mediator in regional matters, advocating for peaceful solutions and coordinated development.

Iran’s response indicates support for initiatives that emphasise stability, sovereignty, and long-term regional planning. The discussions also underline the importance of international partnerships in managing evolving geopolitical conditions.

As diplomatic efforts continue, the focus remains on building mechanisms that can support sustainable peace and cooperation across the region.
