ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the record increase in remittances during the first ten months of the current fiscal year (July 2024-April 2025). According to the Prime Minister, remittances have reached $31.2 billion in this period, which represents an increase of 31 percent compared to last year.

In his statement, the prime minister described the historic performance as a testament to the patriotism of overseas Pakistanis and their confidence in the country’s economic policies. “Overseas Pakistanis are playing a central role in the development of the country’s economy,” he stressed.

Shehbaz Sharif further said that the government of Pakistan is committed to strengthening the country’s economy and putting it on the path of development. He appreciated the significant contribution of overseas Pakistanis to the national economy and vowed to provide more facilities for them.

This record increase is extremely important for the country’s economy, especially in the current global economic situation, when the increase in foreign exchange reserves is considered a symbol of the country’s economic stability. According to economists, this increase in remittances will play an important role in improving the country’s external accounts and strengthening foreign exchange reserves.
