Mediators in Istanbul are discussing our demands with the Taliban: Foreign Office

Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said in a press briefing that the mediators in the talks in Istanbul are discussing our demands in detail with the Afghan Taliban and the Pakistani team has provided the mediators with logical and evidence-based information;  Andrabi stressed that Pakistan’s position is clear — Afghan soil should not be used for terrorism — and further comment on the issue will be deferred until the negotiations are concluded.

At the same time, he also expressed gratitude for the role of Turkey and Qatar in the mediation process and said that Pakistan will ensure the protection of its defense and sovereignty interests.
