Mohsin Naqvi orders FIA to take strict action against money laundering, hawala hundi and human trafficking

A high-level meeting was held in the FIA Karachi Zone under the chairmanship of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, in which the overall performance of Karachi and the South Zone was reviewed in detail.

Addressing the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi directed to bring out the complete money trail of the elements involved in money laundering and clarified that indiscriminate action against illegal networks of hawala hundi should be taken at all costs.

The Interior Minister ordered strict action against the agent mafia involved in human trafficking, saying that those who deceive innocent citizens and send them abroad do not deserve any concession. He said that the business of fake medicines is a serious threat to human lives, and those involved in this heinous business should be brought to justice.

During the meeting, FIA officials briefed the meeting and said that 20 agents involved in human trafficking were arrested during the last four months, while non-customs products and drugs worth Rs 140 million were seized.

According to experts, effective action against money laundering and hawala hundi will not only stabilise the country’s economy but will also improve Pakistan’s global image.

The meeting was also informed about the Facilitation Center established at Karachi Airport for the convenience of passengers. Finally, the Interior Minister asked for performance reports of various circles and directed the officers to work more diligently and responsibly.
