New Rule for MDCAT: Under-18 Students Must Get NADRA Juvenile Card to Appear in Test

Thousands of medical students are worried after the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) announced a new rule for the MDCAT-2026 exam.

The PMDC has made “biometric verification” (fingerprint checking) compulsory at all exam centers. This means if a student is under 18, they can no longer use just their B-Form. Instead, they must go to NADRA and get a Juvenile Registration Card.

Why Parents are Worried:

  • Extra Cost: Getting a new card from NADRA costs money and time.
  • Short Life: The card expires when the student turns 18, which for many is only a few months away.
  • Long Queues: Parents say NADRA offices are already crowded, making it hard to get the card quickly.

What You Need to Do:

If you are planning to take the MDCAT this year and you are under 18, you should visit the nearest NADRA center with your parents as soon as possible. Without this card, you may not be allowed to enter the examination hall. The PMDC says this rule is to stop cheating and make sure the right person is taking the test.
