Pakistan Zilhajj Moon Sighting 2026 Meeting Scheduled in Karachi Tomorrow

According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held tomorrow at the Karachi Meteorological Department to review the sighting of the Zul-Hijjah moon.

The meeting will announce the new month of the Islamic calendar, taking into account the testimonies received from across the country and weather conditions.

If the Zul-Hijjah moon is sighted on May 17, then Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated in the country on Wednesday, May 27.

However, if the moon is not sighted, then Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on Thursday, May 28.

The final announcement of the date of Eid-ul-Adha will depend entirely on the decision of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and the confirmation of the testimonies.

According to experts, this system of moon sighting plays an important role in ensuring religious harmony and central decision-making in the country.
