Petrol price remains stable, diesel increased by Rs 6 per liter

In a statement issued by the Finance Division, the Government of Pakistan has announced that the price of petrol per liter will remain at Rs 265.45, but the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs 6 and the new price has been fixed at Rs 284.44 per liter.

This new rate will be effective from November 16, 2025 and will continue until the second fortnight of November.

The government has cited the recent volatility in global oil prices and rising import costs, particularly the global rise in diesel prices, as the basis for this decision.

Experts say that the increase in diesel prices could increase the economic pressure on the public, especially in the transport, agriculture and industrial sectors where diesel is used in large quantities.

An economic analysis has predicted that the increase in diesel prices will lead to additional costs for logistics and retailers, which will likely be passed on to consumers and could lead to a general increase in the prices of essential goods.
