Petrol Subsidy Scheme: Motorcycle and Rickshaw Riders to Get Relief on 20 Litres of Subsidy per Month

The government has completed preparations for the implementation of a petrol subsidy scheme for motorcycle and rickshaw riders. According to sources, initially only motorcycles and rickshaws up to 70 cc will be eligible under this scheme, while motorcycles larger than this will not be included in the scheme.

Eligible individuals will be given a subsidy of Rs 100 per litre on 20 litres of petrol every month. A mobile application has been developed to monitor the subsidy and quota, which will be launched in collaboration with the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication.

Sources say that from next week, eligible riders will be able to avail themselves of the benefit of subsidised petrol through the mobile app.
