PM Shehbaz Meets High-Level US Delegation to Bolster Regional Stability

In a significant move toward regional diplomacy, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a high-stakes meeting with a visiting US delegation comprising Vice President J.D. Vance, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner. The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), focused on fostering a “stepping stone” toward long-term peace in the region.

The US officials arrived in Pakistan earlier today for a series of discussions aimed at navigating complex regional dynamics. During the session, PM Shehbaz commended the constructive engagement shown by both sides, emphasising that dialogue remains the only viable path toward stability.

“The Prime Minister expressed the hope that these talks would serve as a stepping stone toward durable peace in the region,” the PMO stated in an official release.

Accompanied by Deputy PM Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s role as a facilitator. He maintained that Islamabad is committed to supporting all stakeholders in making tangible progress toward “sustainable peace”.

The visit is seen by analysts as a crucial moment for Pakistan-US relations, highlighting Islamabad’s continued relevance in the geopolitical landscape of South and Central Asia.
