Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif welcomes ongoing surplus in current account deficit

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has praised the ongoing third-consecutive month balance in the current account deficit. According to a statement, the Prime Minister said that the persistent surplus in the current account shows the right direction of the national economic policy.

He also underlined how the administration is focused on raising the surplus even more during the present fiscal year. “The good economic indicators reflect the increasing confidence of the business community,” he said.

Shahbaz Sharif also pointed out that the nation had a 1.2 billion dollar surplus during the first half of the fiscal year, and initiatives are under progress to raise this amount even further. Programs like Udaan, he said, would give the national economy more vitality.
