Prime Minister’s big gift to the people on Eid; Summary to increase petrol price rejected

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has rejected the proposal for a big increase in the prices of petroleum products while providing relief to the people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to sources, a summary of a Rs50 per liter increase in the price of petrol was sent to the Prime Minister, which he refused to approve in the public interest.
Sources in the Prime Minister’s House said that the Prime Minister has taken this decision to protect the poor and middle class from the additional burden of inflation on the occasion of Eid.

He directed the authorities to keep prices stable so that transport fares and prices of essential commodities do not increase during Eid.

It should be noted that the Petroleum Division had proposed an increase in view of the fluctuations in prices in the global market, however, the Prime Minister, calling it an “Eid gift”, has ordered to maintain prices instead of putting an additional burden on the people.

After this decision, there will be no increase in petrol prices for the next 15 days, which has caused a wave of joy among the public.
