PSX tops 180,000 points today

Reports of a possible reduction in tensions between Iran and the United States at the global level have renewed investor confidence in the Pakistan Stock Exchange, resulting in a significant rally in the market on Wednesday and the benchmark KSE-100 Index managed to close above the 180 thousand point level again after several weeks.

Since the start of business in the market, the buying trend has been prominent in various sectors. Investors took the expectations of improvement in global conditions as a positive sign and showed interest in buying shares, which led to the index continuing to move upwards. During the trading session, the index also recorded a high of 180,202 points.

At the end of the trading session, the KSE-100 index closed at 180,014 points, up 2,931 points. The index fluctuated within the range of 1,690 points throughout the day, indicating active trading in the market and strong investor confidence.

According to statistics, more than 740 million shares were traded in the market, with a total value of about Rs 35 billion. At the same time, the market capitalisation increased by Rs 257 billion, after which the total market value reached Rs 20,090 billion.

According to economists, Pakistan’s stock market is constantly monitoring the global geopolitical situation, crude oil prices, interest rates and local economic indicators. He said that if the external environment remains relatively stable and economic indicators maintain a positive direction, there is a possibility of investor interest remaining in the upcoming trading sessions. However, he also advised investors to adopt a cautious strategy, keeping in mind short-term volatility.
