Public holiday declared in Sindh on April 4: Notification issued, all institutions will remain closed

The Sindh government has declared a public holiday across the province on April 4, 2026, on the occasion of the death anniversary of former Prime Minister and Pakistan People’s Party founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. According to a notification issued by the Sindh Home Department, all government offices, semi-government institutions, educational institutions and most private sectors will remain closed on that day.


The notification clarified that this holiday will be effective in all districts of the province, including Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur. The government says that the purpose of this decision is to pay tribute to the services of a prominent political figure of the country. For the convenience of the public, the notification has been issued in advance so that all institutions can complete their arrangements.


The Sindh government has appealed to the citizens to maintain discipline during the events held on the occasion of this day and strictly follow the instructions given by the security agencies.
