Punjab Decides to Overhaul Century-Old Criminal Laws

LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to change the 150-year-old criminal laws in the province. A legal reforms committee has been formed in this regard, which will be headed by DIG Kamran Adil. The committee has been asked to submit its report within three months.

The committee will recommend amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860, the Martyrs’ Law Order, 1984, and other laws.
