Punjab expanding trade and tourism with US cooperation

US Consul General Stetson Sanders met with Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz and discussed matters related to further strengthening bilateral relations, including investment, trade and cultural cooperation.

Maryam Nawaz said that the increasing diplomatic and economic progress between Pakistan and the United States is welcome. According to her, the Prime Minister’s recent visit to the United States has taken bilateral relations to a new height.

The Chief Minister of Punjab said that the provincial government has started implementing a historic package for the rehabilitation of flood-affected families, while special attention is being paid to the restoration of historical heritage to promote cultural tourism in Punjab.

He added that the government is serious about protecting the environment, and steps are being taken to reduce the effects of smog coming from neighbouring countries.

During the meeting, US Consul General Stetson Sanders described the Punjab government’s e-business project as very effective and supportive for investors and said that the rapid development and vision in the province are clearly visible.
