Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has strongly reacted to the statements of PPP leaders, accusing them of exceeding constitutional limits and playing the provincial card. She clarified that interfering in the affairs of a province is a violation of the constitution, and the PPP is exceeding its constitutional limits by interfering in the internal affairs of Punjab.

Uzma Bukhari raised the question of whether the PPP leaders have lost their senses or are they afraid of the growing popularity of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz? She said that those who used to shout slogans of “Mersu Mersu” on everything are now playing the provincial card for political point scoring. She alleged that the media was not ready to listen to her till two weeks ago, and now they are trying to make news by criticizing the flood victims and farmers of Punjab.

The provincial minister sternly asked why wheat was not purchased from the farmers there despite the PPP government in Sindh. She further said that how long will the slavery of Sindh’s elders continue while living in Punjab? Uzma Bukhari took a categorical stand that Punjab does not need to take permission from any other province to use its water, because the first right over Punjab’s resources belongs to the people of Punjab. She made it clear that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will ensure that the farmers of her province get their right to water at all costs, and PPP leaders should not feel uncomfortable that Maryam Nawaz is talking about the interests of the people of Punjab.

The Information Minister also criticized the 17-year-old PPP government in Sindh and said that the people there are drowning in a sea of problems. She reminded the people of Punjab that when they were in trouble, the PPP had mocked their suffering, and the people will never forget this negative attitude of the PPP.
