Section 144 imposed in Punjab, complete ban on bathing in rivers and ponds

Lahore: The Punjab government has imposed a complete ban on swimming in dams, rivers, ponds, and lakes across the province under Section 144. According to a notification issued by the Punjab Home Department, this ban has been implemented immediately, which will be effective till August 30.

According to the notification, not only natural water bodies but also bathing in rainwater collected in streets, roads, and public places has been banned. Apart from this, there will also be a complete ban on boating without permission.

The Home Department says that these measures have been taken keeping in mind the weather conditions and the safety of the people to avoid any untoward incident.
