Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that the UAE did not condemn attacks on Iran during the recent regional crisis and was involved in anti-Iran activities.
According to the Iranian news agency Mehr News, Abbas Araghchi said in a statement that he had previously avoided mentioning the UAE by name due to regional solidarity, but now Tehran has become necessary to openly discuss the role of the Emirates.
He said that when the attacks on Iran began, there was no condemnation from the UAE, which Tehran has serious reservations about.
On the other hand, UAE Presidential Advisor Anwar Gargash said that the UAE has never supported war and has always made diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions in the region.
He said that peace and stability in the Gulf is possible only through negotiations and a political solution, and relations between Arab countries and Iran cannot be run on the basis of confrontation.
According to analysts, the recent statements reflect the ongoing diplomatic tension between Iran and the Gulf countries; however, at the same time, negotiations and contacts are also ongoing.
