The government decides to import sugar to balance sugar prices

Islamabad : The Ministry of Food Security has announced that the process of importing sugar at the government level has been started to control the rising sugar prices in the country. According to the announcement, this step is being taken to provide relief to the people.

The announcement said that sugar is being imported under a new and effective strategy, which is more transparent and organized than in previous periods. The aim of importing sugar through the government sector is to prevent artificial shortages and illegal profiteering in the market.

It was further explained that when the government allowed the export of sugar, there was ample supply of sugar in the local market. Now that prices are fluctuating, the decision to import was inevitable.

According to officials, imported sugar will become available in the local market in the next few weeks, which is expected to bring a significant reduction in sugar prices.
