Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has said that the “contradictory and unclear messages” given by the US are hindering the ongoing diplomatic talks with Iran.

According to Iranian state media IRIB, Abbas Araqchi said in his statement that Tehran is ready to move forward with the negotiation process; however, the lack of consistency in Washington’s policy is complicating the situation.

According to the Arab broadcaster Al Jazeera, the Iranian Foreign Minister made it clear that Iran cannot be held responsible for any tension in the Strait of Hormuz. He said that Iran has neither started a war nor increased tensions in the region but is only taking defensive measures.

Abbas Araqchi reiterated his position that shipping through the Strait of Hormuz is open to “friendly countries” as long as they maintain contact and coordination with Iranian authorities. He said that only “enemy countries” can be subject to restrictions on this route.

According to the Iranian Foreign Minister, the Strait of Hormuz is an important and sensitive route for global energy transport, and Iran is playing a responsible role in ensuring its security.

According to analysts, Iran’s statement comes at a time when geopolitical tensions in the region and global concerns about energy supplies are increasing.

Political observers say that efforts are underway to reduce tensions between Tehran and Washington, but the lack of mutual trust remains a major obstacle to progress in negotiations.

Iran has once again expressed its determination that it desires regional peace but will not compromise on its sovereignty and security.
