Pakistan and Bangladesh partners for peace and development in the region

Dhaka: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan wants to promote ties with Bangladesh in all sectors as the people of both countries desire peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

Addressing a reception ceremony at the Pakistani High Commission in Dhaka, he said that the relations between the two countries are based on historical and cultural foundations, which need to be further expanded. According to Ishaq Dar, climate change and security threats are common challenges that we will have to move forward together to address.

He said that Pak-Bangladesh relations have improved in the past one year and there are vast opportunities in the fields of trade and education. He said that SAARC should play a more active role for the development of the region.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the reception given by Pakistani High Commissioner Imran Haider was attended by Bangladeshi government advisors, political leaders, bureaucrats, vice chancellors, think tanks and artists.
