Election Commission releases schedule for by-elections in 3 constituencies

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan has released the schedule for by-elections in 2 National Assembly and 1 Punjab Assembly constituencies to maintain democratic continuity in the country.

According to the notification issued, by-elections have been announced in the National Assembly constituencies NA-66 Wazirabad, NA-129 Lahore, and Punjab Assembly constituency PP-87 Mianwali.

The seat of NA-129 Lahore fell vacant due to the death of former member of the assembly Mian Azhar, for which the election process has begun.

According to the schedule, candidates will be able to submit their nomination papers from August 4 to 6, while their scrutiny will be completed by August 11. The tribunals will pronounce decisions on appeals by August 22. The papers can be withdrawn by August 25, and election symbols will be allotted on August 26.

The Election Commission says that all necessary steps have been completed to conduct these elections in a clean, transparent, and timely manner.
