New school timings for Punjab schools released

After the summer vacations are over in Punjab, educational activities are going to resume. The School Education Department has issued new timings for schools across the province from August 24. Government and private schools will open as usual from Monday.

Under the new schedule, single-shift schools will open from Monday to Thursday at 8 am. Teaching activities will continue till 1:30 pm. On Friday, the school duration will be shortened, and the holiday will be at 12:45 pm.

Separate timings have also been fixed for double-shift schools. The morning shift will start at 8 am and will continue till 12 pm. The second shift will start at 1 pm and continue till 5:30 pm.

On Friday, the first shift in double-shift institutions will be from 8 am to 12 pm. The second shift will start at 2 pm and end at 5:30 pm.

This decision of the education department has come in the context of the restoration of normal educational activities in schools after the long summer vacations. According to the official notification, the summer vacations of government and private schools in Punjab were scheduled from May 22 to August 23, while the teaching process will resume from August 24.

Due to the new working hours, it will be necessary for parents to arrange their children’s transportation and daily routine in advance. Especially, students studying in double-shift schools will have to take care of their respective shift times.
