Islamabad: The long-standing strategic relations between Pakistan and China are about to enter a new phase, as the sixth round of the annual Pak-China strategic dialogue is to be held in Islamabad. According to informed diplomatic sources, these talks will not only be important in the context of regional and global challenges, but will also open new avenues of mutual cooperation.

According to sources, the talks will be co-chaired by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Xi, while a high-level Chinese delegation is expected to arrive.

The talks will cover key areas such as defense cooperation, economic ties, political coordination, and cultural ties. Investment, people-to-people contacts, and regional stability are also expected to be discussed.

It may be recalled that the fifth round was held in Beijing on May 15 last year, in which the two countries agreed to further strengthen long-term strategic trust.
