The provincial governments of Punjab and Balochistan are announcing long holidays for the public and government employees on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, giving citizens more time to prepare for the celebration.
According to the notification issued, Eid-ul-Fitr holidays are being given across Punjab on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. After this announcement, government institutions in the province will remain completely closed on these days, while citizens are also getting ready to participate fully in the Eid festivities.
On the other hand, the Balochistan government is also declaring a public holiday across the province on Thursday, March 19. Under this decision, not only government but also private institutions are being kept closed, which is expected to boost Eid activities across the province.
If these holidays are taken as a whole, it is becoming a long break for government employees. Three days of holidays from Thursday to Saturday, the usual holiday on Sunday, and then the official holiday of Pakistan Day are being added, due to which the number of holidays reaches five.
This situation is being considered very welcome for the citizens as they are getting extra time to prepare for Eid, shop and meet their loved ones.
Earlier, the federal government had also announced two-day holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr, which will be on March 20 and 21. These holidays are being applied equally to offices that work for five and six days.
Thus, a coordinated series of holidays is being formed across the country on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, which is not only providing convenience to the people but also promoting social and community activities.
