Pakistan launches passport home delivery service in partnership with TCS

With the aim of improving public service delivery, the federal government has officially launched a passport home delivery service, allowing applicants to receive their passports at their registered addresses instead of having to pick them up at passport offices.

This initiative has been implemented by the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) in collaboration with the courier company TCS. With this new system, applicants can select the home delivery option when submitting their passport application, after which their completed passports will be delivered via the designated courier network.

Authorities indicated that the service seeks to streamline the passport issuance process, reducing the need for repeated visits to passport offices and minimising waiting times for citizens.

The announcement came after a meeting at the DGIP headquarters between the Director General of Immigration and Passports, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, and the CEO of TCS, Hassan Raza Laghari, where both parties finalised the operational partnership.

As part of the agreement, TCS has been designated as the official delivery partner for the DGIP. The company will be responsible for the secure transport of passports issued to applicants who opt for the courier service during the application process.

Authorities indicated that the initiative aims to offer a faster, safer, and more efficient passport delivery method, thereby improving the overall experience for citizens applying for travel documents.

The home delivery service is also expected to reduce congestion at passport offices, allowing officials to streamline operations and focus on processing applications more efficiently.

According to government officials, the project aligns with the federal government’s efforts to modernise public services through digitalisation and citizen-centric reforms. The initiative supports Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s vision of making government services more accessible, transparent, and user-friendly.

This launch follows another recent reform to passport services, in which the government announced plans to introduce electronic payment systems at passport offices nationwide. Together, these measures are expected to streamline the passport application process and improve service delivery to millions of Pakistanis.

Authorities have advised applicants to ensure they correctly enter their residential address and contact information when applying to avoid delivery delays.
