Business hours in Islamabad to remain unchanged

The district administration of Islamabad has decided to maintain restrictions on business hours, under which the order to close all shops, markets and shopping malls at 8 pm will continue to be in force.

According to a notification issued by the administration, this restriction will be applicable for the entire week, including Saturday and Sunday. However, some essential services have been exempted from this in view of public convenience.

The notification has clarified that medical stores, hospitals and laboratories will remain open as usual, while petrol pumps and CNG stations will not be affected by this ban. Similarly, tandoors, bakeries and milk shops have also been given exemption so that the supply of daily necessities is not affected.

On the other hand, instructions have been issued to close all hotels, restaurants and food outlets in the city by 10 pm; however, takeaway and home delivery services will be allowed to continue.

Furthermore, it has been made mandatory for marriage halls, banquets and other functions to close by 10 pm, while the same timings will also apply to marriage functions held in residential homes and farmhouses.

According to the district administration, this decision has been taken in continuation of the previous notification issued on April 25, and these instructions will continue to be implemented till further notice.
