LPG cheaper in May; OGRA issued a new notification

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a minor reduction in the prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for May 2026, which is expected to provide limited relief to consumers.

According to the notification issued by OGRA, the price of LPG per kg has been reduced by 31 paise, after which the new price has been fixed at Rs 303.81 paise.

Similarly, the price of an 11.8 kg domestic cylinder has been reduced by Rs 3.69, after which its new price has become Rs 3,584.90. The new prices will be applicable for the entire month from May 1.

LPG is used as an important fuel for domestic, commercial and small-business use in different parts of the country, especially in areas where natural gas supply is limited or gas pressure problems are faced.

According to experts, although this price reduction is minor, it is important for those consumers who depend on LPG for their daily needs. However, the overall impact of this reduction on the household budget is likely to be limited.
