August Auto Sales Report Released, Alto Takes the Lead

The sales trend in Pakistan’s auto market during August was mixed. Some major companies saw a decrease in monthly sales, while a few popular models showed better results compared to the previous year.

According to the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), Pak Suzuki sold a total of 7,633 vehicles in August. The company’s sales in July were 10,120 units. Thus, sales decreased by 25 percent on a monthly basis, however, the company’s sales were 7 percent higher compared to August 2025.

Alto stood out in Pak Suzuki’s overall performance. In August, 5,339 units of Alto were sold, which is 27 percent more than 4,193 units a year ago. Swift sold 1,472 units, Avery 415 units and Cultus 296 units. 111 units of the Phoenix also made it to the sales record.

Indus Motors’ August sales stood at 4,029 units. This is 21 percent lower than July, but 19 percent higher than the same period last year. Corolla and Yaris sold 3,079 units, while Fortuner and Hilux sold 950 units.

Honda Cars sold 2,633 vehicles in August. In July, this number was 2,640 units, which is a slight difference on a monthly basis. However, the year-on-year comparison was significantly better for the company and sales increased by 145 percent. A total of 2,553 units of the City and Civic were sold.

Hyundai’s sales were 742 units, which is 5 percent higher than July, but 39 percent lower on a yearly basis. Elantra performed better with 458 units, while Porter sold 252 units. Tucson sales were limited to 2 units.

In commercial vehicles, GAL and GHNI combined sales stood at 314 units, while Hino sold 43 trucks and 6 buses. In the tractor market, Millat Tractors sold 809 units, up 19 percent from last year. Al-Ghazi Tractors sold 243 units.

The data shows that the auto sector faced pressure on a monthly basis in August, however, several companies and models showed improvement in year-on-year comparison. In particular, the performance of Alto, some Honda models and Millat Tractors remained among the key market trends.
