The business week on the Pakistan Stock Exchange ended with a negative trend, where the market was under pressure due to cautious strategies of investors and selling pressure in various sectors. The benchmark KSE-100 Index recorded a significant decline during weekly trading, while the overall market value also decreased.

At the end of the week, the KSE-100 Index closed at 171,021 points after a decline of 4,781 points. During the business week, the index continued to move in a band of 8,857 points, where the highest level was recorded at 178,370 points and the lowest level was recorded at 169,512 points. This situation indicates that investors continued to invest cautiously throughout the week due to uncertain economic conditions.

According to the data, a total of 3.48 billion shares were bought and sold during the week, worth Rs 138 billion. Activity was seen in the market in banking, energy, cement and other important sectors; however, the overall trend remained negative, and investors preferred to make new investments on a limited scale.

At the same time, a decrease of Rs 512 billion was recorded in the market capitalisation of the Pakistan Stock Exchange, after which the total market value was reduced to Rs 19,278 billion. This decline in market value reflects the easing of investor confidence on a weekly basis.

According to financial analysts, investors will focus on economic indicators, corporate financial results, government economic policies and global financial trends next week. They say that if the economic environment stabilises and investor confidence improves, the market may see a positive trend again in the coming days. All figures included in the news have been compiled based on weekly trading results and are presented for informational purposes.
