Defence Minister challenges Indian Air Chief: Claim of downing Pakistani aircraft baseless

ISLAMABAD — Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has termed the recent statements of the Indian Air Chief as “unreasonable and inappropriate” and challenged an independent verification of the current stockpiles of aircraft of both countries.

In his statement, he said that India could neither shoot down nor destroy any Pakistani aircraft, on the contrary, Pakistan targeted six Indian warplanes and the S-400 air defence system.

According to Khawaja Asif, Pakistan immediately gave a technical briefing to the international media in this regard, after which impartial observers, world leaders and even Indian politicians have admitted to the damage caused to several Indian aircraft including Rafale.

He added that the delayed claims of the Indian Air Force chief are not only baseless but his statement after three months of silence becomes even more suspicious.
