London: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan is on the path of development and stability, hence the need for the 27th Constitutional Amendment is not being felt. Speaking to reporters in London, he said that the government is currently focusing on fully implementing the 26th Amendment and making it effective, while economic indicators are clearly improving.
He called the united and coordinated leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif the main reason for the recent positive results and said that the current reforms are proving effective and fruitful.
Meanwhile, according to the Foreign Office, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar met British Minister Hamish Faulkner in London, during which a comprehensive review of bilateral relations was taken and the commitment to further strengthen political and economic cooperation was expressed.
The two leaders also had a detailed discussion on regional and global issues, and highlighted the importance of a just solution to Jammu and Kashmir. Ishaq Dar briefed the British leadership on Pakistan’s ongoing economic reforms and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability in South Asia.
The two sides agreed to continue high-level contacts and expand mutual cooperation to new areas.
