Federal Government Declares March 15 as ‘Day of Sanctity of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’ to Combat Islamophobia

Islamabad: To combat Islamophobia and defend Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) sanctity, the federal government established March 15 as the “Day of Sanctity of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).” An official notification from the Ministry of Religious Affairs reached all seven provincial regions of Pakistan, including Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The government issued a notification that suggested starting nationwide campaigns that will focus on preventing blasphemous material and teaching respect for religious beliefs. Provincial religious affairs secretaries received orders to establish proactive plans of action.

Religious scholars such as Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, alongside Maulana Abdul Malik and Professor Dr. Sajid Mir, as well as Maulana Hanif Jalandhari and Allama Muhammad Afzal Haidari, must unite their efforts to develop a complete plan that combats blasphemy alongside awareness initiatives.

Through this decision, the government demonstrates its dedication to safeguarding both the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and creating an environment of tolerance and respect. This day exists to convey opposition to Islamophobia while strengthening protective measures for sacred religious principles.

This initiative unites Pakistan in expressing outrage against blasphemy and works to bring harmony to the nation as it confronts worldwide issues of Islamophobia. The official call puts forward joint national cooperation, which requires education programs along with awareness campaigns to handle religious intolerance and hate speech.
