Government decisions on the advice of convicted persons are unacceptable: Talal Chaudhry

Federal Minister Talal Chaudhry, while talking to the media, said that making government decisions on the advice of a convicted person or a person in jail is against the constitution, and it can lead to a serious constitutional crisis. He said that the current government fully believes in the supremacy of the constitution.

He further said that the announcement of the formation of the cabinet or the formulation of policies on the instructions of the founder PTI is a deviation from court decisions. He reminded that in the past also the Supreme Court has given a clear decision on the case of Nawaz Sharif that the decisions of imprisoned persons have no constitutional status.

The federal minister stressed that declaring the decisions of the PTI founder as party policy is in contradiction with the party constitution itself, as the party structure recognises only the authority of the chairman. According to him, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government should take decisions independently and in accordance with the constitution and not on the instructions of a prisoner.

Talal Chaudhry said that in Pakistan, the law is equal for everyone; no person can be above the constitution. The Ministry of Interior and the federal government will continue to take every necessary step to maintain constitutional order.
