Infrastructure projects worth billions of rupees approved in Punjab

Lahore: The Punjab government has approved major development projects of roads and bridges in Rawalpindi and Mandi Bahauddin. The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) meeting for the financial year 2025-26 will spend Rs5.552 billion on the construction of three underpasses in Rawalpindi. These underpasses include GPO Chowk, TM Chowk, and a pedestrian underpass near AFIC.

The expansion of the road from the District Complex to Kakwal Bridge in Mandi Bahauddin and the construction of a flyover will cost Rs1.864 billion. The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the Planning and Development Board Dr. Naeem Rauf. Under these projects, a commitment has been expressed to reduce traffic problems in the province and improve the convenience of citizens.
