Iran Warns US Over Treaty Breaches; Trump Likens Naval Actions to ‘Piracy’

Tensions between Tehran and Washington have reached a new flashpoint following inflammatory remarks by US President Donald Trump and a stern warning from Iran’s military leadership. Sardar Asadi, Deputy Inspector of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, stated that evidence proves the US cannot be trusted to uphold any international agreements.

“Ready for a Full Response”

Sardar Asadi emphasised that Iran’s defence forces are on high alert to protect national security. “Iran does not seek war, but we will not show weakness in the face of aggression,” he declared, adding that Iranian forces possess the capability to deliver a “crushing response” if regional tensions escalate further.

Trump’s “Piracy” Admission

The rhetoric comes as President Donald Trump described US naval operations against Iran in terms usually reserved for outlaws. Speaking on the blockade of Iranian ports, Trump stated that the US Navy is acting like “pirates” by seizing Iranian ships and oil cargo.

“We are seizing Iran’s ships, cargo, and oil; it is a very profitable business,” Trump reportedly said. “We are like pirates, but we aren’t playing games.” This admission has sparked concerns over the legality of maritime seizures and the further destabilisation of regional trust.
