Section 144 imposed in Islamabad and Rawalpindi; complete ban on protest activities

The district administration of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi has imposed Section 144 in view of the law and order situation, after which any kind of meeting, procession, rally or protest activity has been completely banned.

According to the announcement issued by the administration, gathering of people in public places, taking out political or organizational processions and holding any gathering without permission will be considered against the law. The announcement has made it clear that immediate action will be taken in case of violation of the law.

It has been further said that citizens should exercise responsibility and not be part of any activity that could pose a threat to public order.
