ISPR strongly reacts to Indian Army Chief’s statement, “Provocative language is dangerous for the region.”

The Pakistan Army Public Relations Department (ISPR) has strongly reacted to the recent statement of the Indian Army Chief, calling it provocative, irresponsible and harmful to regional peace.

The statement issued by the ISPR said that the remarks made by the Indian Army Chief about Pakistan in his interview reflect an undiplomatic and aggressive mindset.

According to the statement, the Indian Army Chief had said that Pakistan will have to decide whether it wants to be a part of geography and history or not, on which Pakistan has expressed serious concern.

The ISPR clarified that Pakistan is a recognised nuclear power and an undeniable part of the geographical and historical reality of South Asia, whose status cannot be changed by any statement or desire.

The army’s public relations department said that such statements increase tension instead of promoting peace in the region, while in the past such statements have also caused several crises in South Asia.

According to the Pakistan Army spokesperson, responsible states do not use such language about their neighbouring countries, as it affects regional stability.

The statement further said that Pakistan’s sovereignty, geographical position and existence are a historical fact that cannot be challenged under any circumstances.

According to analysts, Pakistan-India relations are already at a sensitive stage due to various disputes and border tensions; in such a situation, harsh statements can increase tension between the two countries.
