Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has said that Karachi was spared a major tragedy due to the timely action of security forces and police. According to him, a woman was arrested on the way during suspicious activity, which prevented a possible disaster.
Talking to Private Media House, Atta Tarar said that the banned organisation BLA moulds the minds of the youth through social media and uses them for terrorism. He said that BLA is fully supporting Mahrang Baloch, and its aim is to create instability in the country.
The Federal Minister further said that the National Cyber Crime Agency has been established and a zero-tolerance policy has been adopted against terrorist content. According to him, terrorists are being eliminated not only on the ground level but also on the digital front.
According to security experts, the recent incident is clear evidence that terrorist networks are now using social media as a weapon, but timely intelligence operations by state agencies are proving effective in thwarting such plans.
