The Pakistan Stock Exchange ended trading on Tuesday with a negative trend, and the benchmark KSE-100 index closed at 179,846.68 points after a decline of 1,463.60 points.

The index recorded a daily decline of 0.81 percent. KSE-100 started the session at 181,017.29 points and made the same level the highest level of the day during trading, while the lowest level remained at 179,778.99 points.

Some prominent stocks tried to support the index in the trading session. HBL made the highest positive contribution with 155.29 points, while MEUBL added 96.42 points. POL, HMB and IBFL contributed 26.88, 17.31 and 14.37 points, respectively.

On the other hand, FFC was the most depressant stock on the index, contributing 256.95 points. ENGROH contributed 163.18 points, LUCK 143.46 points, UBL 111.04 points and BAHL 103.25 points.

The index constant volume of KSE-100 was 370.24 million. According to the market data provided, the index has performed 0.25 percent negative since the beginning of the financial year, while it has been 3.33 percent positive during the calendar year.

The other major index, KMI-30, also witnessed a negative trend. It closed at 253,007.72 points after falling 2,717.47 points or 1.06 percent.

KMI-30 opened at 255,275.57 points, and the index touched a high of 255,573.36 points for the day. Later, it touched a low of 252,818.78 points.

In KMI-30, MEUBL made the highest positive contribution with 275.60 points. GAL added 34.08 points, PRL added 20.86 points and GHNI added 0.50 points.

On the other hand, ENGROH made the highest negative contribution with 497.52 points. FFC contributed 496.42 points, LUCK 410.05 points, OGDC 227.10 points and HUBC 195.27 points.

KMI-30 has performed 1.68 percent negative since the beginning of the financial year, while the index has gained 1.80 percent during the calendar year.

Overall, both the major indices recorded a decline in Tuesday’s session. The positive and negative contributions of various companies in the available data show that despite the overall market movement, some stocks supported the index while major negative contributors added pressure.
