Lahore: The Federal Minister for Information, Atta Tarar, said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was crooked and bad at running the state of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for 11 years. He told the media that he was going to write a white paper about the local government’s claimed flaws, such as misusing funds and not running things well.

He said that the truth is very different from what the PTI says about growth. “Those who once mocked the Metro Bus as a ‘jungle bus’ built the BRT in Peshawar, riddled with inefficiencies,” he noted. He also said that PTI put political protests ahead of public welfare and that money meant for health and development was being used for sit-ins and riots instead.

The government minister said the province lost Rs. 192 billion, but just paying off the debt would cost Rs. 355 billion, which is KP’s total budget. His accusation was that PTI had broken its promises, such as building 500 dams, and he asked where the money for energy and turbine projects was.

Atta Tarar said that there has been little to no progress in fixing the problems of the people in KP, especially in important areas like health and law and order. “Talking about and criticizing the army won’t feed the people,” he said, telling political parties to stop using social media to spread false information and focus on doing good for the public.

In conclusion, the minister said again that the white paper would show how the PTI is allegedly mismanaging money and not being accountable. He also said that any political party’s main goal should always be to serve the people.
