The government has announced new petrol and high-speed diesel prices for July 23, 2026, with both prices increasing. The new prices will be valid for 1 day.
The price of petrol has been hiked by Rs 6.39 per litre, making it Rs 327.12 per litre, an official notification said.
The price of high-speed diesel has also gone up by Rs 7.83 per litre. The new revision in the price of diesel will be available at Rs 375.04 per litre.
The new rates will come into effect from July 23, officials said, while the government has recently implemented a new pricing system for fuels.
The new system was established as a reaction to the shifting geopolitical landscape and the volatility of global oil markets. Ahead of the policy, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has been announcing prices for fuels daily without the need for separate approval from the prime minister or the federal cabinet. The prices that are advertised prior to the weekend, however, will not change on Saturday and Sunday.
This is the latest in a series of daily price adjustments. For July 21, petrol became 35 paisas cheaper per litre, while diesel rose by Rs 5.71 per litre. A day later, for July 22, petrol was increased by Rs 4.93 per litre and diesel by Rs 7.15 per litre.
The back-to-back changes have put the spotlight on consumers, transport companies and businesses, as they all are keeping an eye on the development of fuel costs. Market observers believe that further changes will be linked to global crude oil prices, import prices, and the exchange rate of the Pakistani currency.
