Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says trade and investment are key priorities for economic growth

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan’s economic policy is not only focused on investment but also on promoting trade, so that the economy can be stabilized on a long-term basis.

He said this while chairing a meeting on the country’s economy and foreign investment in Islamabad. The meeting was attended by Army Chief General Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and other senior officials.

The Prime Minister said that the recent positive economic indicators reflect the growing confidence of foreign investors. He said that Pakistan is being made an attractive investment hub in the region where growth will be accelerated under transparency and modern strategies.

He stressed that the role of the private sector is key in this policy, and the government will take advantage of every investment opportunity to increase employment opportunities. The meeting also reviewed the ongoing and proposed development projects and the promotion of foreign direct investment.

According to experts, these steps by the Prime Minister can further boost the confidence of international investors, especially at a time when economic competition in the region is intense.
