The anti-drone device “Safra Drone Jamming Gun” developed by the National Electronics Complex was introduced at the Pakistan Navy’s Pymech exhibition, where company representatives claimed that the gun can effectively target commercial and enemy-type drones located up to 1.5 km away.
During the exhibition, the company’s manager Hamza Khalid said that this jammer gun usually works at an angle of 30 degrees, but this angle can be changed as needed. He said that the system is not only capable of controlling the signals of the drone and making it land, but also completely disables the drone by reaching the remote control.
Hamza Khalid added that the technology can be deployed for border surveillance in the country and can be used as an additional security measure at large public gatherings or events. He also said that if more than one drone attack is launched by the enemy, the gun is fully capable of disabling them simultaneously.
Security circles believe that this locally developed anti-drone system can prove to be a significant asset for both the defense and civil security sectors in the future, especially when the risks of misuse of drone technology are increasing.
